Redemptive Sports is excited to sponsor our very first team!  Fall of 2021 will be the inaugural season for the NTX Slayers!

Redemptive Sports was launched in the summer of 2020 with a focus on combining sound baseball training with Christ-centered Bible study and Biblical community for not only our athletes but dads, coaches, etc.  Throughout 2020 and into 2021, we have continued to pray for the Lord's guidance  in connecting with a team.  So, here we are!

The "NTX Slayers" is a perfect team for our organization because as you will read in our founder, Tommy Whiteman's, testimony; giants are around every corner in the world of professional sports. And, we aren't speaking of massive pitchers or 1st basemen although there will be those.  We are speaking of the giants that come in the form of temptations and struggles that can only be defeated with the help of our almighty Savior.  

"Our ultimate goal is to train our athletes to slay giants on the field with excellent technique, work ethic, and perseverance, and to slay giants off the field with Biblical truth, Biblical community, and Biblical accountability."

Logistically, the Slayers will get in as many tournaments as possible while keeping fees to a reasonable rate ($600 to $800 per season).  New uniforms will be purchased in the fall and kept throughout the spring.  We will practice 2 to 3 nights a week in the North Fort Worth area. 

If you have an athlete in this age group, and this is just the kind of environment you're looking for, we'd love for you to walk through the process below:

  • Tommy Whiteman sponsors the "NTX Slayers" and is not the head coach; however, he will lead the team in player development, practices, game strategy, and Bible study.  His expertise and experience is invaluable, but so is his testimony.  It is a requirement for all of our RS families to read his broken story before ever signing on to join our organization.   • To sign up for our tryout, please send an email to redemptivesports@gmail.com with your athlete's name, age/birthday, years of experience/levels of baseball played, and your best contact number.
Spring Tryouts set for November 20, 2022.  Private tryouts can be arranged if needed.

We are so glad you found your way here!  At Redemptive Sports, our cornerstone is Jesus. Unfortunately, the land of athletics is rot with pride and self-indulgent behavior.  We live in a society that breeds this from a young age.  Here at Redemptive Sports, our goal is to remind athletes where they got their talent and who it is for.  You will find coaching here that will take you to the next level, but more importantly, we hope you find Jesus.

The founder of Redemptive Sports, Tommy Whiteman, can speak first hand about the dark shadows of sports, especially professionally.  He, himself an extremely talented athlete, spent many years praising himself and feeding his flesh.  The Lord so graciously refused to let the world have him and rescued him from his sin in a tremendously dramatic, yet necessary way.  Tommy now spends his time pouring into men around him, helping them navigate this tricky culture with Christ.  His heart is to not only share his vast knowledge of baseball skills, but more importantly, the freedom he found in his Redeemer.  Think you can handle his whole story?  Check out Tommy's bio in the About Me section in the menu.
