Redemptive Sport's Philosophy

Tommy is devoted to making Redemptive Sports Christ-centered and scripture based.  Tommy spent time in some biblical counseling training through the Association of Biblical Counselors and prioritizes Bible reading for himself and his athletes.  The goal here is to create a community of men who not only have a common interest, but who hold each other accountable and push truth into one another's lives.

Every weekly lesson allows time for a Christ-centered conversation and prayer.  Tommy utilizes our in-house curriculum, devotionals, or online  sermons to bring truth to his athletes.

Our in-house curriculum points to a sport's related topic or character trait each month.  Time is spent talking about what the Bible says about this topic, how it applies to sports, and how it applies to their life in general.  Athletes have some "call to action" related to each month's topic or character trait.  We want to create men who can apply Jesus to their life, not only focus on Him one night a week.  Some of the topics in our curriculum include:

Self Control
Pride
Fear and Anxiety
Pure Heart
Self-Sacrifice - Putting Others First
Not Returning Evil for Evil
Respecting Authority
Integrity
Leadership
Perseverance
Christ's Purpose for You
Gratitude
